No zakat is due on wealth until a full year has passed over it.

Its isnad is sahih, and it is stopped at Ali. Abu Dawud narrated it, 2:10-11, through Jareer bin Hazim and another narrator, from Abu Ishaq, from Asim bin Damra and Harith the One-Eyed, from Ali, as a raised hadith. This isnad is also sahih, on account of Asim, not Harith. Bayhaqi likewise narrated it in Sunan al-Kubra, 4:95, through Jareer. See Nasb Raya, 2:328-329.
