Abd Khayr reported,

I saw Ali perform ablution and wipe over his sandals. Then he said, "Were it not that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do exactly as you have seen me do, I would have considered the underside of the feet more deserving of being wiped than the top."

عن عبد خير قال

رأيت عليا رضي الله عنه توضأ ومسح على النعلين ثم قال لولا أني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ فعل كما رأيتموني فعلت لرأيت أن باطن القدمين هو أحق بالمسح من ظاهرهما
