A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, "I love so-and-so for the sake of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you told him?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then tell him."So he went to him and said, "I love you for the sake of Allah."The man replied, "May the One for whose sake you love me love you in return."Khalaf said in his version, "He met him."
حدثنا حسين وخلف بن الوليد قالا حدثنا المبارك قال حدثني ثابت البناني
أن رجلا قال للنبي ﷺ إني أحب فلانا في الله قال فأخبرته قال لا قال فأخبره فقال تعلم أني أحبك في الله قال فقال له فأحبك الذي أحببتني له وقال خلف في حديثه فلقيه
Its isnad is sahih. Husayn is the son of Muhammad bin Bahram, and Mubarak is the son of Fadala. The hadith has already appeared at 12370.
