It was said to Ali and Abu Bakr on the day of Badr, "With one of you is Jibreel and with the other is Mikail, and Israfil is a mighty angel who attends the battle," or he said, "who attends the battle line."
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Awn is Muhammad bin Ubaydullah bin Saeed Thaqafi. Abu Salih Hanafi is Abdul-Rahman bin Qays. The hadith appears in Majma al-Zawaid 6:82, mentioned twice in succession with the same wording, except that there it reads, "from Ali, who said, the Prophet ﷺ said to me and to Abu Bakr," and so on. In the first instance he said, "Ahmad narrated something similar, as did Bazzar and Tabarani in Kabir and Awsat, and it contains Abdul-Aziz bin Imran, who is daif," and that is not the isnad found here. In the second instance he said, "Ahmad narrated something similar, as did Bazzar, and this is his wording, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih," and that is the isnad found here.
