Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most handsome of people, the most generous of people, and the most courageous of people. One night, the people of Medina were alarmed by a noise, so they set out toward the source of the sound. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met them on his way back, having already investigated the sound for them. He was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talha, bareback with no saddle, and a sword hung from his neck. He was saying to the people, "Do not be afraid, do not be afraid."He said of the horse, "We found him to be like a sea," or, "Indeed, he is like a sea."Anas said that the horse had previously been slow, but after that day, it was never outpaced.
