We had been forbidden from asking the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about anything, so it pleased us when an intelligent man from the desert people would come and ask him while we listened.A man from the desert people came and said, "Muhammad, your messenger came to us and claimed that you claim Allah has sent you."He replied, "He spoke the truth."The man asked, "Who created the heavens?"He answered, "Allah."The man asked, "Who created the earth?"He answered, "Allah."The man asked, "Who set up these mountains and placed in them what He placed?"He answered, "Allah."The man said, "By the One who created the heavens, created the earth, and set up these mountains, has Allah sent you?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we have five prayers required upon us in our day and night."He replied, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we owe zakat on our wealth."He replied, "He spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we must fast the month of Ramadan in our year."He replied, "Yes, he spoke the truth."The man said, "By the One who sent you, has Allah commanded you with this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "Your messenger claimed that we must perform pilgrimage to the House, whoever is able to find a way to it."He replied, "He spoke the truth."Then the man turned away and said, "By the One who sent you with the truth as a prophet, I will not add anything to them nor will I subtract anything from them."The Prophet ﷺ said, "If he has spoken truthfully, he will surely enter Paradise."
حدثنا هاشم بن القاسم حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة عن ثابت
كنا قد نهينا أن نسأل رسول الله ﷺ عن شيء فكان يعجبنا أن يجيء الرجل من أهل البادية العاقل فيسأله ونحن نسمع فجاء رجل من أهل البادية فقال يا محمد أتانا رسولك فزعم لنا أنك تزعم أن الله أرسلك قال صدق قال فمن خلق السماء قال الله قال فمن خلق الأرض قال الله قال فمن نصب هذه الجبال وجعل فيها ما جعل قال الله قال فبالذي خلق السماء وخلق الأرض ونصب هذه الجبال آلله أرسلك قال نعم قال فزعم رسولك أن علينا خمس صلوات في يومنا وليلتنا قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال فزعم رسولك أن علينا زكاة في أموالنا قال صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال وزعم رسولك أن علينا صوم شهر رمضان في سنتنا قال نعم صدق قال فبالذي أرسلك آلله أمرك بهذا قال نعم قال وزعم رسولك أن علينا حج البيت من استطاع إليه سبيلا قال صدق قال ثم ولى فقال والذي بعثك بالحق نبيا لا أزيد عليهن شيئا ولا أنقص منهن شيئا فقال النبي ﷺ لئن صدق ليدخلن الجنة
