Abu Talha was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah in terms of property, and the most beloved of his properties to him was Bayruha, which faced the mosque. The Prophet ﷺ used to enter it and drink from its sweet water.Anas said, when the verse was revealed, "You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love" [Aal Imran 3:92], Abu Talha said, "Messenger of Allah, Allah says, 'You will never attain righteousness until you spend from what you love' [Aal Imran 3:92], and the most beloved of my properties to me is Bayruha. It is a charity for the sake of Allah . I hope for its righteousness and that it be stored up with Allah. So place it, Messenger of Allah, wherever Allah shows you."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Well done! That is profitable property, that is profitable property. I have heard what you said, and I think you should give it to your close relatives."Abu Talha said, "I will do so, Messenger of Allah."So Abu Talha distributed it among his relatives and his cousins.
