Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went on a military campaign or a journey and night overtook him, he would say, "Earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil of what is created in you, the evil of what is within you, and the evil of what crawls upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the dwellers of the land, from the evil of every parent and what they have begotten, and from the evil of lions, black snakes, serpents, and scorpions."
حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا صفوان عن شريح بن عبيد الحضرمي أنه سمع الزبير بن الوليد يحدث
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا غزا أو سافر فأدركه الليل قال يا أرض ربي وربك الله أعوذ بالله من شرك وشر ما خلق فيك وشر ما فيك وشر ما دب عليك أعوذ بالله من شر ساكن البلد ومن شر والد وما ولد ومن شر أسد وأسود وحية وعقرب
