I asked Anas bin Malik about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, "He used to draw out his voice with prolonged elongation."
حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا جرير بن حازم
سألت أنس بن مالك عن قراءة رسول الله ﷺ قال كان يمد بها صوته مدا
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related the hadith 9/91, no. 5045, Fath al-Bari, in the chapters on the virtues of the Quran, on drawing out the recitation, Nasai 2/179, no. 1014, in the chapter on the opening, with a similar wording, and Ibn Majah 1/430, no. 1353, in the chapter on the iqamah, on what has been said about recitation in prayer.
