We flushed out a rabbit at Marr al-Zahran. The young men chased after it until they were exhausted. I caught it and brought it to Abu Talha, who slaughtered it. He then sent its hip with me to the Prophet ﷺ, and he accepted it.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا شعبة عن هشام بن زيد قال سمعت
أنفجنا أرنبا بمر الظهران قال فسعى عليها الغلمان حتى لغبوا قال فأدركتها فأتيت بها أبا طلحة فذبحها ثم بعث معي بوركها إلى النبي ﷺ فقبل
Its isnad is sahih. Hisham bin Zayd bin Anas narrates from his grandfather, and he is trustworthy. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 5/202 no. 2572 (Fath), in the chapter on Gifts, accepting a gift of game, and Muslim 3/1547 no. 1953, in the chapter on Hunting, the permissibility of hare, and Tirmidhi 4/251 no. 1789.
