The Prophet ﷺ called the Ansar to grant them land in Bahrain, but they said, "No, not until you grant the same to our brothers from the Muhajirun."He replied, "You will face favoritism shown to others over you after I am gone, so be patient until you meet me."
حدثنا سفيان عن يحيى قيل لسفيان يعني
دعا النبي ﷺ الأنصار ليقطع لهم البحرين فقالوا لا حتى تقطع لإخواننا من المهاجرين مثلنا فقال إنكم ستلقون بعدي أثرة فاصبروا حتى تلقوني
Its isnad is sahih. Yahya is Ibn Saeed Ansari. Bukhari narrated the hadith, 5/41, in the Virtues, under the Prophet's ﷺ statement to the Ansar, "Be patient." Muslim also narrated it, 3/1474, no. 1845, in Leadership, on the command to be patient in the face of unjust rulers.
