Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not ask me about anything until the Day of Resurrection without my informing you about it."Abdullah bin Huzafa said, "Messenger of Allah, who is my father?"He replied, "Your father is Huzafa."His mother said to him, "What made you do this?"He answered, "I wanted to put my mind at rest," for there had been talk about his lineage.Humayd said, I believe this is from Anas.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry, so Umar said, "We are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as Prophet. We seek refuge in Allah from the anger of Allah and the anger of His Messenger."

حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد

عن أنس قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تسألوني عن شيء إلى يوم القيامة إلا حدثتكم قال فقال عبد الله بن حذافة يا رسول الله من أبي قال أبوك حذافة فقالت أمه ما أردت إلى هذا قال أردت أن أستريح قال وكان يقال فيه قال حميد وأحسب هذا عن أنس قال فغضب رسول الله ﷺ فقال عمر رضينا بالله ربا وبالإسلام دينا وبمحمد ﷺ نبيا نعوذ بالله من غضب الله وغضب رسوله
