He was asked about the daytime prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he replied that he used to pray sixteen rakats.He explained, "He would pray two rakats, like the Asr prayer, when the sun was here in the same position as it would be there at the time of Asr. And he would pray four rakats, like the Zuhr prayer, when the sun was here in the same position as it would be there at the time of Zuhr. He would also pray four rakats before Zuhr, two rakats after Zuhr, and four rakats before Asr."

أنه سئل عن صلاة رسول الله ﷺ بالنهار فقال كان يصلي ست عشرة ركعة قال يصلي إذا كانت الشمس من هاهنا كهيئتها من هاهنا كصلاة العصر ركعتين وكان يصلي إذا كانت الشمس من هاهنا كهيئتها من هاهنا كصلاة الظهر أربع ركعات وكان يصلي قبل الظهر أربع ركعات وبعد الظهر ركعتين وقبل العصر أربع ركعات
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Kamil Jahdari, Fudayl bin Husayn, is trustworthy. Ahmad said, "Knowledgeable in hadith and precise," and he is among the teachers of Bukhari and Muslim. This hadith is an extended version of the one before it. Both are among the additions of Abdullah bin Ahmad.
