The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will come to you a people whose hearts are softer than yours."Then the Asharis arrived, and among them was Abu Musa Ashari. As they drew near to Medina, they were chanting, "Tomorrow we shall meet the loved ones, Muhammad and his company."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي عن حميد
قال رسول الله ﷺ يقدم عليكم أقوام هم أرق منكم قلوبا قال فقدم الأشعريون فيهم أبو موسى الأشعري فلما دنوا من المدينة كانوا يرتجزون يقولون غدا نلقى الأحبه محمدا وحزبه
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it, 8/98, no. 4388, Fath, in the book of military expeditions, chapter on the arrival of the Ashariyyin, and Muslim, 1/72, no. 52, in the book of faith, chapter on the varying degrees of the people of faith, and Tirmidhi, 5/726, no. 3935, in the book of virtues, chapter on the merit of Yemen, with a similar wording.
