The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will surely follow the ways of the Children of Israil step by step and arm-length by arm-length, so much so that if a man from the Children of Israil entered the burrow of a lizard, you would follow them into it." On another occasion he said, "You would follow him into it."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن زيد بن أسلم عن رجل
قال رسول الله ﷺ لتتبعن سنن بني إسرائيل شبرا بشبر وذراعا بذراع حتى لو دخل رجل من بني إسرائيل جحر ضب لتبعتموهم فيه وقال مرة لتبعتموه فيه
