Abu Wadi reported,

We were heading toward Kufa with Ali bin Abu Talib . When we reached a distance of two or three nights' journey from Harura, a large group of people split off from us. We mentioned this to Ali , and he said, "Do not be alarmed by their affair, for they will return."Then he mentioned the hadith in its full length.Ali bin Abu Talib praised Allah and said, "My beloved friend told me that the leader of these people is a man with a deformed hand, on the nipple of his breast there are hairs like the tail of a jerboa. Search for him."They searched but did not find him. We came to him and said, "We did not find him."He said, "Search for him. By Allah, I have not lied, nor have I been lied to," repeating it three times.We said, "We did not find him."So Ali came himself and began saying, "Turn this one over, turn this one over," until a man from Kufa came and said, "Here he is."Ali said, "Allahu Akbar. No one will come to you who can tell you who his father is."The people began saying, "This is an angel, this is an angel," while Ali kept asking, "Whose son is he?"

أبا الوضيء عبادا حدثه أنه قال

كنا عامدين إلى الكوفة مع علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه فلما بلغنا مسيرة ليلتين أو ثلاث من حروراء شذ منا ناس كثير فذكرنا ذلك لعلي رضي الله عنه فقال لا يهولنكم أمرهم فإنهم سيرجعون فذكر الحديث بطوله قال فحمد الله علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه وقال إن خليلي أخبرني أن قائد هؤلاء رجل مخدج اليد على حلمة ثديه شعرات كأنهن ذنب اليربوع فالتمسوه فلم يجدوه فأتيناه فقلنا إنا لم نجده فقال فالتمسوه فوالله ما كذبت ولا كذبت ثلاثا فقلنا لم نجده فجاء علي بنفسه فجعل يقول اقلبوا ذا اقلبوا ذا حتى جاء رجل من الكوفة فقال هو ذا قال علي رضي الله عنه الله أكبر لا يأتيكم أحد يخبركم من أبوه فجعل الناس يقولون هذا ملك هذا ملك يقول علي رضي الله عنه ابن من هو
