The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us during the illness in which he died, with his head wrapped in a cloth. I followed him until he climbed onto the pulpit. He said, "At this very moment I am standing at the Hawd."Then he said, "A servant has been offered the world and its adornments, but he has chosen the Hereafter."No one among the people grasped what he meant except Abu Bakr, who said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you. Rather, we will ransom you with our wealth, our lives, and our children."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came down from the pulpit, and he was never seen on it again from that hour onward.
