The Prophet ﷺ said:"While an Arabi was tending his flock somewhere on the outskirts of Madinah, a wolf attacked him and seized one of his sheep. The Arabi caught up with it, rescued the sheep, and drove the wolf off with shouts. The wolf walked away, then sat back on its haunches, curled its tail beneath it, and addressed him, saying, 'You have taken provision that Allah granted me.'The Arabi said, 'How astonishing, a wolf sitting on its haunches with its tail tucked under, speaking to me!'The wolf replied, 'By Allah, what you are missing is even more astonishing than this.'The Arabi asked, 'And what is more astonishing than this?'The wolf said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, among the two palm trees between the two lava plains, telling people of the news of what has already passed and what is yet to come.'"The Prophet ﷺ continued, "So the Arabi shouted to his flock and drove them to a part of Madinah, then went to the Prophet ﷺ and knocked on his door. When the Prophet ﷺ had finished praying, he asked, 'Where is the Arabi, the owner of the flock?'The Arabi stood up, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, 'Tell the people what you heard and saw.'So the Arabi told the people what he had seen of the wolf and what he had heard from it.At that, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'He has spoken the truth. There are signs that will appear before the Hour. By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not come until a man leaves his household and his sandal, his whip, or his staff informs him of what his family did after he left.'"
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب حدثني عبد الله بن أبي حسين حدثني شهر أن
عن النبي ﷺ قال بينا أعرابي في بعض نواحي المدينة في غنم له عدا عليه الذئب فأخذ شاة من غنمه فأدركه الأعرابي فاستنقذها منه وهجهجه فعانده الذئب يمشي ثم أقعى مستذفرا بذنبه يخاطبه فقال أخذت رزقا رزقنيه الله قال واعجبا من ذئب مقع مستذفر بذنبه يخاطبني فقال والله إنك لتترك أعجب من ذلك قال وما أعجب من ذلك فقال رسول الله ﷺ في النخلتين بين الحرتين يحدث الناس عن نبإ ما قد سبق وما يكون بعد ذلك قال فنعق الأعرابي بغنمه حتى ألجأها إلى بعض المدينة ثم مشى إلى النبي ﷺ حتى ضرب عليه بابه فلما صلى النبي ﷺ قال أين الأعرابي صاحب الغنم فقام الأعرابي فقال له النبي ﷺ حدث الناس بما سمعت وما رأيت فحدث الأعرابي الناس بما رأى من الذئب وسمع منه فقال النبي ﷺ عند ذلك صدق آيات تكون قبل الساعة والذي نفسي بيده لا تقوم الساعة حتى يخرج أحدكم من أهله فتخبره نعله أو سوطه أو عصاه بما أحدث أهله بعده
