Abd Khayr reported,

I saw Ali brought a chair, and he sat upon it. Then a jug was brought to him. Hajjaj said, a small vessel of water. He washed his hands three times, rinsed his mouth three times along with inhaling water into his nose, using a single handful of water for both. He washed his face three times and washed his forearms three times. Hajjaj said, three times each with one hand. He placed his hands into the vessel, then wiped his head. Hajjaj said, he gestured with his hands from the front of his head to the back. He said, I do not know whether he brought them back to the front of his head or not. He washed his feet three times. Hajjaj said, three times each.Then he said, "Whoever wishes to see how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed his ablution, this is the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر قال حجاج قال حدثني شعبة قال سمعت مالك بن عرفطة قال سمعت

عبد خير قال

رأيت عليا رضي الله عنه أتي بكرسي فقعد عليه ثم أتي بكوز قال حجاج بتور من ماء قال فغسل يديه ثلاثا ومضمض ثلاثا مع الاستنشاق بماء واحد وغسل وجهه ثلاثا وغسل ذراعيه ثلاثا قال حجاج ثلاثا ثلاثا بيد واحدة ووضع يديه في التور ثم مسح رأسه قال حجاج فأشار بيديه من مقدم رأسه إلى مؤخر رأسه قال ولا أدري أردها إلى مقدم رأسه أم لا وغسل رجليه ثلاثا قال حجاج ثلاثا ثلاثا ثم قال من أراد أن ينظر إلى طهور رسول الله ﷺ فهذا طهور رسول الله ﷺ
