The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more shy than a virgin in her private chamber, and whenever he disliked something, we could recognize it in his face.
حدثنا بهز حدثنا شعبة أخبرنا قتادة عن عبد الله بن أبي عتبة قال
كان رسول الله ﷺ أشد حياء من العذراء في خدرها وكان إذا كره شيئا عرفناه في وجهه
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Bukhari 4/230, in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the description of the Prophet ﷺ, and Muslim in the Book of Virtues, chapter on the extent of his shyness ﷺ 4/1809, no. 2320, and Ibn Majah 2/1399, no. 4180, in the Book of Asceticism, chapter on shyness, and Bayhaqi 10/192.
