I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There will emerge among you a people whose prayer will make you regard your own prayer as insignificant, whose fasting will make you regard your own fasting as insignificant, and whose deeds will make you regard your own deeds as insignificant. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its prey. The hunter looks at the arrowhead and sees nothing on it, then looks at the shaft and sees nothing, then looks at the feathers and sees nothing, and he is left wondering whether the notch caught anything at all."Abdul-Rahman said, Malik narrated this hadith to us.
قال قرأت على عبد الرحمن: مالك عن يحيى بن سعيد عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث التيمي عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول يخرج فيكم قوم تحقرون صلاتكم مع صلاتهم وصيامكم مع صيامهم وأعمالكم مع أعمالهم يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز حناجرهم يمرقون من الدين مروق السهم من الرمية ينظر في النصل فلا يرى شيئا ثم ينظر في القدح فلا يرى شيئا وينظر في الريش فلا يرى شيئا ويتمارى في الفوق قال عبد الرحمن حدثنا به مالك يعني هذا الحديث
