Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was distributing some shares, Ibn Dhi al-Khuwaysirah at-Tamimi came to him and said, "Be just, Messenger of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Woe to you. Who would be just if I am not just?"Umar bin Khattab said, "Messenger of Allah, will you permit me to deal with him so I may strike off his neck?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Leave him. He has companions whose prayer any of you would consider insignificant compared to theirs, and whose fasting you would belittle compared to theirs. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes clean through its prey. One looks at the arrow's feathers and finds nothing on them, then looks at its shaft and finds nothing on it, then looks at its binding and finds nothing on it, then looks at its head and finds nothing on it. The arrow has gone clean through, outpacing the dung and the blood. Their distinguishing mark is a black man, on one of his arms," or he said, "on one of his breasts, something resembling a woman's breast, or like a lump of flesh that quivers. They will appear during a time of division among the people."Then this verse was revealed concerning them, "And among them are those who criticize you regarding the distribution of charities" [Tawbah 9:58].Abu Saeed said, "I bear witness that I heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I bear witness that when Ali killed them, I was with him, and the man was brought forth matching exactly the description the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had given."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن الزهري عن أبي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن

عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال

بينا رسول الله ﷺ يقسم قسما إذ جاءه ابن ذي الخويصرة التميمي فقال اعدل يا رسول الله فقال ويلك ومن يعدل إذا لم أعدل فقال عمر بن الخطاب يا رسول الله أتأذن لي فيه فأضرب عنقه فقال النبي ﷺ دعه فإن له أصحابا يحتقر أحدكم صلاته مع صلاته وصيامه مع صيامه يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية فينظر في قذذه فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر في نضيته فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر في رصافه فلا يوجد فيه شيء ثم ينظر في نصله فلا يوجد فيه شيء قد سبق الفرث والدم منهم رجل أسود في إحدى يديه أو قال إحدى ثدييه مثل ثدي المرأة أو مثل البضعة تدردر يخرجون على حين فترة من الناس فنزلت فيهم {ومنهم من يلمزك في الصدقات} الآية قال أبو سعيد أشهد أني سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ وأشهد أن عليا حين قتله وأنا معه جيء بالرجل على النعت الذي نعت رسول الله ﷺ
