Whoever wishes to look upon the guidance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, let him look upon the guidance of Amr bin Aswad.

Its chain is daif because of a break in it. Damra bin Habib is trustworthy, but he did not meet Umar. Hakeem bin Umayr is also trustworthy, but he did not meet Umar. Abu Bakr is the son of Abdullah bin Abu Maryam, and he is daif as mentioned before at 113. Amr bin Aswad is Amr bin Aswad Ansi, Abu Ayyad, an early successor, apparently one who lived in both the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods. It is said his name was Umayr. He has a biography in al-Isabah 5:122 and al-Tahdheeb 8:4-6, and the Hafiz noted in both places that this refers to this same report.
