I bear witness regarding Abu Saeed and Abu Hurairah that they both testified concerning the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Allah grants respite until, when a third of the night has passed, He descends and says, 'Is there anyone asking, that he may be given? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness for a sin? Is there anyone making supplication, that he may be answered?'"

أشهد على أبي سعيد وأبي هريرة أنهما شهدا على النبي ﷺ أنه قال إن الله يمهل حتى إذا كان ثلث الليل هبط فيقول هل من سائل فيعطى هل من مستغفر من ذنب هل من داع فيستجاب له
