The Prophet ﷺ was sitting on the day of the Trench at one of its passes when he said, "They have kept us from the middle prayer until the sun has set. May Allah fill their bellies and their houses with fire."
Its isnad is sahih. Yahya bin Jazzar Urani, with the ayn vowelized with damma and the ra with fatha, the Kufan, was a trustworthy successor who leaned toward Shiism. Harb said, I asked Ahmad, "Did he hear from Ali?" He said, "No." But Shuba said, Yahya bin Jazzar heard only three hadiths from Ali, and he mentioned this hadith among them. The "furdah" of the trench is like the "furdah" of a river, meaning the breach in its bank from which water is drawn. This hadith is a repetition of 1036.
