I heard the Prophet ﷺ say from this pulpit, "What is the matter with Some men who claim that the kinship of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ does not benefit his relatives? Indeed, by Allah, my kinship is connected in this world and the next.People, I will precede you to the Pool. When you come to me, one man will say, 'Messenger of Allah, I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so,' and his brother will say, 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so.'I will say to them, 'As for the lineage, I know it, but you introduced innovations after me and turned back on your heels.'"
Its isnad is hasan because of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel. Hamza bin Abu Saeed Khudri is trustworthy, and Zuhayr is Ibn Muhammad Tamimi, who is trustworthy. The hadith with its meaning is found in Bukhari 8/438 no. 4740 Fath, and Muslim 1/218 no. 349. Its first part is also supported by his statement ﷺ, "Every lineage and kinship will be severed on the Day of Resurrection except my lineage and kinship." Hakim graded it sahih in 3/142, and Dhahabi said it is disconnected, but Haythami said in 4/271, Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir 3/36, 11/243, and its narrators are the narrators of the sahih.
