Abu Saeed was informed about a funeral. He held back until the people had taken their seats, then he came. When the people saw him, they moved aside, and some of them stood up to offer him their place.He said, "No. I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'The best of gatherings are the most spacious ones.'"Then he stepped aside and sat in a spacious spot.

أخبر أبو سعيد بجنازة فعاد تخلف حتى إذا أخذ الناس مجالسهم ثم جاء فلما رآه القوم تشذبوا عنه فقام بعضهم ليجلس في مجلسه فقال لا إني سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول إن خير المجالس أوسعها ثم تنحى وجلس في مجلس واسع
