The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a horned ram and said, "This is on behalf of myself and on behalf of those of my nation who did not offer a sacrifice."
حدثنا سعيد بن منصور حدثنا عبد العزيز بن محمد قال أخبرني ربيح بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي سعيد عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ ضحى بكبش أقرن وقال هذا عني وعمن لم يضح من أمتي
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Tirmidhi narrated it with this wording, 4/85, no. 1496, in the chapter on sacrificial animals, on what is recommended regarding sacrificial animals, and he said, hasan sahih gharib, we do not know it except through the hadith of Hafs bin Ghiyath. There is no doubt that it was narrated through other than his route, as we have seen, indeed it is found in similar wording in Abu Dawud, 3/45, no. 2796, through the route of Jabir and Ayesha.
