Abu Saeed Khudri reported,

I was sitting in a gathering of the Ansar when Abu Musa came to us looking alarmed. He said, "Umar ordered me to come to him, so I went and asked permission to enter three times, but I was not granted permission, so I returned. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had said, 'Whoever asks permission three times and is not granted it should return.' But Umar said to me, 'You must bring proof of what you say, or I will punish you.'"Abu Saeed said, "Abu Musa came to us alarmed," or he said, "frightened," and said, "I call upon you to bear witness for me."Ubayy bin Kaab said, "Only the youngest of the group should go with you."Abu Saeed said, "I was the youngest of them, so I went with him and testified that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever asks permission three times and is not granted it should return.'"

حدثنا سفيان حدثنا يزيد بن خصيفة عن بسر بن سعيد

عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال

كنت في حلقة من حلق الأنصار فجاءنا أبو موسى كأنه مذعور فقال إن عمر أمرني أن آتيه فأتيته فاستأذنت ثلاثا فلم يؤذن لي فرجعت وقد قال ذلك رسول الله ﷺ من استأذن ثلاثا فلم يؤذن له فليرجع فقال لتجيئن ببينة على الذي تقول وإلا أوجعتك قال أبو سعيد فأتانا أبو موسى مذعورا أو قال فزعا فقال أستشهدكم فقال أبي بن كعب لا يقوم معك إلا أصغر القوم قال أبو سعيد وكنت أصغرهم فقمت معه وشهدت أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من استأذن ثلاثا فلم يؤذن له فليرجع
