When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would retire to his bed, he would say, "O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens, Lord of the earths, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the grain and the date-stone, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran, I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature whose forelock You hold. You are the First, so there is nothing before You. You are the Last, so there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest, so there is nothing above You. You are the Hidden, so there is nothing beyond You. Settle my debt for me and free me from poverty."
حدثنا حسن بن موسى حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا أوى إلى فراشه قال اللهم رب السماوات السبع ورب الأرضين وربنا ورب كل شيء فالق الحب والنوى منزل التوراة والإنجيل والقرآن أعوذ بك من شر كل ذي شر أنت آخذ بناصيته أنت الأول فليس قبلك شيء وأنت الآخر فليس بعدك شيء وأنت الظاهر فليس فوقك شيء وأنت الباطن فليس دونك شيء اقض عني الدين وأغنني من الفقر
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated it in the book of remembrance, the chapter on what to say when going to sleep, 4/2084, no. 2713, as did Abu Dawud, 4/312, no. 5051, in the book of manners, the chapter on what to say when going to sleep, and Tirmidhi in the book of supplications, 5/518, no. 3481, where he said, hasan gharib, and Ibn Majah, 2/1274, no. 3873.
