Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, and Yunus narrated it as raised to the Prophet ﷺ, that the Angel of Death used to come to people visibly. He came to Musa, and Musa struck him and put out his eye.The Angel of Death returned to his Lord and said, "My Lord, Your servant Musa has put out my eye, and were it not for his honored status with You, I would have dealt harshly with him." Yunus said, "I would have made it difficult for him."Allah said to him, "Go back to My servant and tell him to place his hand on the hide or skin of a bull, and for every hair that his hand covers he will have one year of life."The Angel of Death came to him and told him this. Musa asked, "And what comes after that?"He replied, "Death."Musa said, "Then now."So the Angel of Death gave him a single sniff and took his soul.Yunus said, "Allah then restored his eye, and after that he would come to people unseen."

عن أبي هريرة

عن النبي ﷺ وقال يونس رفع الحديث إلى النبي ﷺ قد كان ملك الموت يأتي الناس عيانا قال فأتى موسى فلطمه ففقأ عينه فأتى ربه عز وجل فقال يا رب عبدك موسى فقأ عيني ولولا كرامته عليك لعنفت به وقال يونس لشققت عليه فقال له اذهب إلى عبدي فقل له فليضع يده على جلد أو مسك ثور فله بكل شعرة وارت يده سنة فأتاه فقال له ما بعد هذا قال الموت قال فالآن قال فشمه شمة فقبض روحه قال يونس فرد الله عز وجل عينه وكان يأتي الناس خفية
