Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah prescribed Friday for those who came before us, but the people differed about it, and Allah guided us to it. So the people follow after us in this matter. Today is ours, tomorrow belongs to the Jews, and the day after tomorrow to the Christians. Saturday is for the Jews, and Sunday is for the Christians."
