Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said that the Lord said, "When the servant draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by a cubit. When he draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by an arm's length. And when he draws near to Me by an arm's length, I come to him at a hurried pace."

أن النبي ﷺ قال يعني الرب عز وجل إذا تقرب العبد مني شبرا تقربت منه ذراعا وإذا تقرب مني ذراعا تقربت منه بوعا أو باعا وإذا تقرب مني بوعا أو باعا أتيته هرولة
