Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man set out to visit a brother of his in another village, so Allah sent an angel to watch for him along his path.When the man came upon him, the angel asked, 'Ayn Tureed?'The man replied, 'I want to see a certain person.'The angel asked, 'Is he a relative of yours?'He said, 'No.'The angel asked, 'Then is there some favor he has done you that you wish to repay?'He said, 'No.'The angel asked, 'Then why are you going to him?'He said, 'I love him for the sake of Allah .'The angel said, 'Then I am the messenger of Allah to you, telling you that Allah loves you just as you have loved him for His sake.'"

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني عن أبي رافع

عن أبي هريرة قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ خرج رجل يزور أخا له في قرية أخرى فأرصد الله عز وجل على مدرجته ملكا فلما مر به قال أين تريد قال أريد فلانا قال للقرابة قال لا قال فلنعمة له عندك تربها قال لا قال فلم تأتيه قال إني أحبه في الله عز وجل قال فإني رسول الله إليك أن الله عز وجل يحبك بحبك إياه فيه
