The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing garments made of qassi fabric and those dyed with safflower, wearing gold rings, and reciting the Quran during the bowing position of prayer.
Its isnad is sahih, except that there is a disagreement about it going back to Malik. Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi said, from Malik, from Nafi, from Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Hunain, from his father, from Ali. Ishaq bin Isa Tabbaa said, from Malik, from Nafi, from Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Hunain, from his father, from Ali. But Ibrahim never met Ali. The narration of Ishaq bin Isa is more correct, and it agrees with the narration in Muwatta 1:101. Further discussion of this hadith will follow in the isnad that comes after this one.
