The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hasten with your funerals, for if the deceased was righteous, you are speeding them toward goodness, and if otherwise, you are casting evil off your shoulders," or he said, "off your backs."
حدثنا إسماعيل قال أخبرنا أيوب عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ أسرعوا بجنائزكم فإن كان خيرا عجلتموه إليه وإن كان شرا ألقيتموه عن عواتقكم أو قال عن ظهوركم

Its isnad is sahih. Nafi is the freed slave of Ibn Umar, and the hadith was narrated by Bukhari 2/108, in the Book of Funerals, chapter on hastening the funeral, and Muslim 2/651, no. 944, similarly, and Abu Dawud 3/205, no. 3181, and Tirmidhi 3/326, no. 1015, who said, hasan sahih, and Nasai 4/42, all of them like Bukhari, and Ibn Majah 1/474, no. 1477, and Malik 1/242.
