We came to Abu Hurayrah to greet him, and we said to him, "Tell us a hadith."He said, "I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for three years. There were never any years in my life during which I had a sharper memory than those, nor any in which I was more eager to retain what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. I saw him gesture with his hand and say, 'Just before the Hour, you will fight a people whose sandals are made of hair, and you will fight a people with small eyes and red faces, as though their faces were hammered shields.'"
حدثنا يحيى عن إسماعيل يعني ابن أبي خالد قال
أتينا أبا هريرة نسلم عليه قال قلنا حدثنا فقال صحبت رسول الله ﷺ ثلاث سنين ما كنت سنوات قط أعقل مني فيهن ولا أحب إلي أن أعي ما يقول رسول الله ﷺ فيهن وإني رأيته يقول بيده قريب بين يدي الساعة تقاتلون قوما نعالهم الشعر وتقاتلون قوما صغار الأعين حمر الوجوه كأنها المجان المطرقة
Its isnad is sahih, and this hadith combines three hadiths that have already come to us. Its first part will come at 10346, the second has already come at 9825, and the third has already come at 10101.
