The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever frees his share in a jointly owned slave is obligated to secure the slave's complete freedom from his own wealth. If he has no wealth, the slave shall be required to work to pay for the rest of his freedom, without being burdened beyond his capacity."
حدثنا يحيى حدثنا ابن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن النضر بن أنس عن بشير بن نهيك
قال رسول الله ﷺ من أعتق شقصا له في مملوك فعليه خلاصه كله في ماله فإن لم يكن له مال استسعي العبد غير مشقوق عليه
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Abu Aruba is Saeed bin Abu Aruba, Mihran, a trustworthy and reliable memorizer, who has been mentioned many times before. The hadith has already appeared at 9470.
