Rabia bin Darraj reported,

Ati reported that Ali bin Abu Talib prayed two rakahs of voluntary prayer after the Asr prayer on the road to Makkah. Umar saw him and became angry with him, then said, "By Allah, you know full well that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this prayer."
