He was sitting with a group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he related this hadith, but he did not mention Abu Qatada. He said, "When he sat in the second rakah, he would sit on his left foot, and when he sat in the final rakah, he would put his left foot forward and sit on his buttocks."
حدثنا عيسى بن إبراهيم المصري حدثنا ابن وهب عن الليث عن يزيد بن محمد القرشي ويزيد بن أبي حبيب عن محمد بن عمرو بن حلحلة
أنه كان جالسا مع نفر من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ بهذا الحديث ولم يذكر أبا قتادة قال فإذا جلس في الركعتين جلس على رجله اليسرى فإذا جلس في الركعة الأخيرة قدم رجله اليسرى وجلس على مقعدته
