I said to myself, "Let me carefully observe how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prays." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, faced the qiblah, and said the takbir, raising his hands until they were level with his ears. Then he grasped his left hand with his right. When he intended to bow, he raised his hands again in the same manner. Then he sat down, spreading out his left leg beneath him, placing his left hand on his left thigh and resting the edge of his right elbow on his right thigh. He folded two of his fingers and made a circle, and I saw him saying it like this.Bishr formed a circle with his thumb and middle finger and pointed with his index finger.
[Its isnad is sahih] Ibn Majah narrated it in Iqamat al-Salawat, chapter on raising the hands when bowing and when raising the head from ruku, hadith no. 867, from the hadith of Bishr bin Mufaddal, and Nasai, hadith no. 1264, from the hadith of Asim bin Kulayb, through the same chain.
