The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray for long stretches of the night standing and for long stretches sitting. When he prayed standing, he would bow from a standing position, and when he prayed sitting, he would bow from a sitting position.
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا حماد بن زيد قال قال سمعت بديل بن ميسرة وأيوب يحدثان عن عبد الله بن شقيق
كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي ليلا طويلا قائما وليلا طويلا قاعدا فإذا صلى قائما ركع قائما وإذا صلى قاعدا ركع قاعدا
