I came to Raqqa, and one of my companions said to me, "Would you like to meet a man who was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ?"I said, "What a fine opportunity!"So we went to Wabisa. I said to my companion, "Let us first observe his appearance." He was wearing a close-fitting cap with two flaps and a grey silk hooded cloak, and he was leaning on a staff during his prayer. After we greeted him, he said, Umm Qays bint Muhsin told me that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ grew old and put on weight, he set up a post in his place of prayer to lean upon.
[Hasan]. Bayhaqi narrated it, 2/288, from the hadith of Shayban with this chain, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs, 1/364-365, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
