The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Saying tasbeeh is for men, meaning during the prayer, and clapping is for women. Whoever makes a gesture during his prayer that is understood from him must repeat it," meaning the prayer.

قال رسول الله ﷺ التسبيح للرجال يعني في الصلاة والتصفيق للنساء من أشار في صلاته إشارة تفهم عنه فليعد لها يعني الصلاة
Sourcing, [its chain of transmission is daif] Daraqutni reported it, 2/83, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Saeed, through this route. Ibn Ishaq was mentioned earlier, 313, and I did not find an explicit statement that he heard it directly.
