A companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reported, "While we were waiting for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to lead the noon or afternoon prayer, and Bilal had already called him to the prayer, he came out to us carrying Umama, the daughter of Abu al-As, his granddaughter, on his neck. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood in his prayer spot and we stood behind him, while she remained where she was. He pronounced the takbir and we followed. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to bow, he took her and set her down, then bowed and prostrated. When he finished his prostration and rose, he picked her up again and returned her to her place. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept doing this with her in every rakah until he completed his prayer ﷺ."
حدثنا يحيى بن خلف حدثنا عبد الأعلى حدثنا محمد يعني ابن إسحق عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري عن عمرو بن سليم الزرقي
صاحب رسول الله ﷺ قال بينما نحن ننتظر رسول الله ﷺ للصلاة في الظهر أو العصر وقد دعاه بلال للصلاة إذ خرج إلينا وأمامة بنت أبي العاص بنت ابنته على عنقه فقام رسول الله ﷺ في مصلاه وقمنا خلفه وهي في مكانها الذي هي فيه قال فكبر فكبرنا قال حتى إذا أراد رسول الله ﷺ أن يركع أخذها فوضعها ثم ركع وسجد حتى إذا فرغ من سجوده ثم قام أخذها فردها في مكانها فما زال رسول الله ﷺ يصنع بها ذلك في كل ركعة حتى فرغ من صلاته ﷺ

[Its chain is daif]. Ibn Hazm narrated it in Al-Muhalla: 3/88, 89, from the hadith of Abu Dawud through this same route, and Ibn Ishaq used an ambiguous form of transmission (anana), but the preceding hadith, no. 918, serves in its place.
