The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever among you recites "By the fig and the olive" [Tin 95:1] and reaches its end, "Is Allah not the most just of judges?" [Tin 95:8], let him say, 'Yes indeed, and I am among those who bear witness to that.' And whoever recites "I swear by the Day of Resurrection" [Qiyamah 75:1] and reaches "Is He then not able to give life to the dead?" [Qiyamah 75:40], let him say, 'Yes indeed.' And whoever recites "By the winds sent forth" [Mursalat 77:1] and comes to "Then in what message after this will they believe?" [Mursalat 77:50], let him say, 'We believe in Allah.'"Ismail said, "I went to repeat it back to the Arabi man and check whether he had it right, but he said, 'My nephew, do you suppose I have not memorized it? I have performed sixty pilgrimages, and there is not one of them but that I still remember the camel I rode on it.'"
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد الزهري حدثنا سفيان حدثني إسمعيل بن أمية سمعت أعرابيا يقول سمعت
قال رسول الله ﷺ من قرأ منكم {والتين والزيتون} فانتهى إلى آخرها {أليس الله بأحكم الحاكمين} فليقل بلى وأنا على ذلك من الشاهدين ومن قرأ {لا أقسم بيوم القيامة} فانتهى إلى {أليس ذلك بقادر على أن يحيي الموتى} فليقل بلى ومن قرأ {والمرسلات} فبلغ {فبأي حديث بعده يؤمنون} فليقل آمنا بالله قال إسمعيل ذهبت أعيد على الرجل الأعرابي وأنظر لعله فقال يا ابن أخي أتظن أني لم أحفظه لقد حججت ستين حجة ما منها حجة إلا وأنا أعرف البعير الذي حججت عليه
