When one of you bows, let him spread his forearms on his thighs and join his palms together. It is as if I can still see the way the fingers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ interlaced.
حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن علقمة والأسود
إذا ركع أحدكم فليفرش ذراعيه على فخذيه وليطبق بين كفيه فكأني أنظر إلى اختلاف أصابع رسول الله ﷺ
Muslim narrated it in "The Book of Mosques," chapter "The Recommendation to Place the Hands on the Knees During Ruku and the Abrogation of Tatbiq," Hadith 534, from the report of Abu Muawiya al-Darir. And Abu Muawiya said, as recorded by Bayhaqi (2/83), "This has been abandoned."
