The Prophet ﷺ asked him on the night of the jinn, "What is in your water-skin?"He replied, "Nabidh."The Prophet ﷺ said, "A good date and pure water."
حدثنا هناد وسليمان بن داود العتكي قالا حدثنا شريك عن أبي فزارة عن أبي زيد
أن النبي ﷺ قال له ليلة الجن ما في إداوتك قال نبيذ قال تمرة طيبة وماء طهور
Its isnad is daif. Tirmidhi transmitted it in Kitab al-Tahara, chapter on what has been said about performing wudu with nabidh, no. 88, from Hannad bin Sari, from Sari, in similar wording, and he said, "Abu Zayd is a man unknown among the people of hadith." Ibn Majah also transmitted it, no. 384.
