Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman and Abu Salama informed me that Abu Hurayra used to say the takbir in every prayer, whether obligatory or otherwise. He would say the takbir when he stood up, then say the takbir when he bowed, then say, "Allah hears whoever praises Him," then say, "Our Lord, to You belongs all praise," before prostrating. Then he would say, "Allah is the Greatest," as he descended into prostration, then say the takbir when he raised his head, then say the takbir when he prostrated again, then say the takbir when he raised his head, then say the takbir when he stood up from sitting after the second rakah. He would do this in every rakah until he finished the prayer.Then, when he had finished, he would say, "By the One in whose hand my soul is, I am the closest of you in resemblance to the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. This was indeed his prayer until he departed this world."
حدثنا عمرو بن عثمان حدثنا أبي وبقية عن شعيب
أخبرني أبو بكر بن عبد الرحمن وأبو سلمة أن أبا هريرة كان يكبر في كل صلاة من المكتوبة وغيرها يكبر حين يقوم ثم يكبر حين يركع ثم يقول سمع الله لمن حمده ثم يقول ربنا ولك الحمد قبل أن يسجد ثم يقول الله أكبر حين يهوي ساجدا ثم يكبر حين يرفع رأسه ثم يكبر حين يسجد ثم يكبر حين يرفع رأسه ثم يكبر حين يقوم من الجلوس في اثنتين فيفعل ذلك في كل ركعة حتى يفرغ من الصلاة ثم يقول حين ينصرف والذي نفسي بيده إني لأقربكم شبها بصلاة رسول الله ﷺ إن كانت هذه لصلاته حتى فارق الدنيا
