The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Go out and announce in Medina that there is no prayer except with Quran, even if only with the Opening of the Book and whatever is added to it."
حدثنا إبراهيم بن موسى الرازي أخبرنا عيسى عن جعفر بن ميمون البصري حدثنا أبو عثمان النهدي قال
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ اخرج فناد في المدينة أنه لا صلاة إلا بقرآن ولو بفاتحة الكتاب فما زاد
[Its chain of transmission is daif] It was related by Bukhari, in Juz Qira, 99 (in my edition), from the hadith of Isa bin Yunus, and by Ahmad, 2/428, from the hadith of Jafar bin Maymun, both from him. This Jafar is daif, Ahmad, Ibn Main, Bukhari, and the majority declared him daif.
